Sitting in 88 Orchard with a cream cheese bagel and a latte, gazing out of the window onto the streets of the LES, the New York Friday Lunch club spied a Jaguar cruising. Not the 4 legged variety, but the 4 wheeled variety. One just as rare and unexpected on these streets 15 years ago as the other. Boy, the times they are a changing.

Brown Café is one of those places you stumble upon and vaguely remember having visited years previously and thankfully nothing has changed. It is the perfect place to grab a quiet coffee, conduct a casual business meeting or just hang out LES style.
They only have a few seats for patriots but that doesn’t matter because we chose our icecream, paid up, and started eating right there at the counter without even giving a second thought to a seat, or our exit, or even making room at the counter for the next customer. They are that good.
