Like an oasis trickling alongside Rockerfeller Park, Pan Latin was the place to head to for a watermelon juice last summer, just when the sun and humidity were about to get the better of us. And in winter - the New York Friday Lunch Club might just head back there for an empanada and some home comforts.

Good, honest French food, bistro style, in the heart of Downtown Manhattan. While our little tiny tot in her high chair relished the Nutella on French bread for breakfast, the New York Friday Lunch Club chose the mozzerella and basil omelette vowing to be back one evening for the Moules Frites and Steak au Poivre. Feels like New York, tastes like France.

Bread is where you " do lunch " (on a Friday, of course), with a few friends, a rowdy toddler and a not so rowdy 6 week old. Space for strollers, high chairs at hand and the best paninis you can shake a stick at.

Cosmopolitan Café

Attached to the Cosmopolitan Hotel, this café has a retro and European feel. This is probably due to the presence of the oversized Espresso machine on the bar and the decorative stained glass windows. The traditional English breakfast, the omelette and pastries are all recommended. And since it was a quiet Friday morning it was perfect for our youngest NYFLC members.
